It has been an interesting past couple weeks. I don’t think I’ve had a season quite as compressed as this summer.

Fun things happen, though, when you take all these ingredients and jam them together. Long trips. New venues. Grand events. Lively people. It’s kind of like geology: the right combination of pressure and time creates some fascinating forms.

The last few shows have been quite poignant. Had a great show at the Burleigh Island Lodge. Things were moved inside on this cold and blustery day. The sound was phenomenal, as was the crowd.

The following day saw a long trip up to Grand Tappattoo Resort in Parry Sound. It was a great evening with an extremely energetic group of people.

After a day’s rest, I had my first chance to play at the Four Season Residences in Yorkville. The level of service and ambiance here was like stepping into another world.

Last Saturday saw another return to the north with a wedding at the Northridge Inn, just north of Huntsville. A brave group of Canadians and Australians braved the 30 knot winds and cold temperatures for the outdoor event. It was a phenomenal day at a very charming resort.

The adventure continues this week, with a public show at the Lantern Restaurant on Thursday.
