Released on September 23, 2011, Stars & Stripes is the first song in an upcoming series of singles from singer/songwriter/guitarist Jake Dudas. It’s a digital-only release, available through iTunes and other major electronic music retailers.

The story. Stars & Stripes has been a staple of the singer/songwriter set for ages. While refurbishing the studio with some new monitors and hard drives this summer, I came across the session files. I stripped it down to the original guitar and vocal, and heard something new. I recut tracks of bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, background vocals and piano, and found a whole new take on the song.

A well-traveled recording, Stars & Stripes was recorded in both Toronto and Peterborough, with final mastering by Andy Krehm of Silverbirch Productions in Toronto. Cover photography and design was graciously provided by Sue Morley Photography.
