‘Love Shines’ added to Spotify playlist highlighting Peterborough performers.
Not that I’m anywhere near a country performer… but my design partner, Aaron Robitaille, and I had a lot of fun putting this imagery together. She somehow channelled my inner, yet definitely more subtle, Johnny Cash.
Earlier this year, my song ‘Love Shines’ (Choices) was added to a Spotify playlist called ‘Nashville of the North.’
Curated by Michael Bell of the Wire Megazine–and a noted performer in his own right—it was a huge honour to be added to this list. It features a huge range of local Peterborough performers—including Melissa Payne, James McKenty, the Weber Brothers, Serena Ryder, Three Days Grace and more.
Have a listen. It’s a really great collection of music, and a privilege to be a part of it.
Glimmers of spring. New album. Tentative dates.
In other news, I’ve been hard at work finishing a new album. Currently wrapping up the sixth song out of nine. I’m not going to lie, it’s been a bit of a slog, but there are some good sounds shaping up.
The current lure of windsurfing and golfing doesn’t help :-).
As well, a few performances are set to proceed in July. One is a public event at Holland Marsh Wineries (Newmarket, ON). This will be followed by two private events at the Muskoka Bay Club (Gravenhurst, ON • Muskoka) and Cave Spring Vineyard/Inn on the Twenty (Jordan, ON • Niagara).
With any luck, I should see a good string of dates if circumstances allow. A monthly series is scheduled at Holland Marsh Wineries (Newmarket, ON). I’ll also likely be back at the Burleigh Falls Inn (Burleigh Falls, ON • Kawarthas), the Publican House (Peterborough, ON), Sawdust City Brewing (Gravenhurst, ON • Muskoka), and Windermere House (Windermere, ON • Muskoka).
Some other new venues are also on the horizon, including Haven Brewing Company (Peterborough, ON) and Rolling Grape Winery (Peterborough, ON).
I’ll keep you posted, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
