Rite of passage.
Mother’s Day always feels like the start of the summer to me. I’ve performed on this day for almost a decade, always close to home in the Kawarthas. From my vantage point, it’s a very communal celebration. I see faces that I haven’t seen since Labour Day. Everyone emerges from their winter slumber, shakes the dust off, and celebrates the centre of the family.
In terms of a venue, the Burleigh Falls Inn feels like an extended family. I suspect I’m not alone in this sentiment. As Jennifer greets guests, one gets the impression of old friends simply shooting the breeze…
