It’s hard not to smile when you play a guitar in the Berkeley Church (Toronto, ON).
I was lucky enough to perform here for a second time in July of this year. Knowing what was in store, I arrived early and took the liberty of simply enjoying the space for an hour.
Music floats in a building like this. Low frequencies can roam without getting bunched up. The mid-range and higher frequencies sustain and decay perfectly. Even when people are going about their conversations, the music finds a clear place to hover in and amongst the other sounds.
I am definitely looking forward to returning to the Berkeley Fieldhouse (Toronto, ON) next door in September.

July quickly turned into a busy month. It was great to see some familiar faces at Graydon Hall Manor (Toronto, ON) and Deer Creek Golf & CC (Ajax, ON). I also had my first chance to perform at the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse (Toronto, ON). This was another great sounding venue, made even more pleasant by a picture-perfect day.
Another highlight was the public singer/songwriter show at the Lantern Restaurant & Grill (McCracken’s Landing, ON). There was just something about the evening. It was as creative and well-received as I could have possibly imagined.

The food here is phenomenal, as is the view overlooking Stoney Lake. I highly recommend coming out.
The show goes from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
