Live shows July/August/September 2022.

Those of you that get out to see some shows know I try and pop in the odd reference to auto racing whenever I can. It’s a thrill to watch Formula 1 drivers and their crews. The precision. The relentless attention to detail. The constant pushing of limits.

While it has nothing to do with music, this summer has seen its share of car racing experiences. I had a chance to fulfil two lifelong ambitions in June: 1) Driving a performance car at Mosport; and 2) Seeing the F1 race in Montreal.

Needless to say, things have been busy. Amidst all these fun adventures has been a full schedule of live performances. And maybe the auto-racing analogy is actually an accurate one—balancing the variables of short-term, maximum speed vs. long-term consistency.

Whether it’s music, auto-racing, or any other passion, the one thing that has shone through 2022 is the pleasure of working with people again. Whether it’s playing a singer/songwriter show or getting back to the intimate private-event work that has been my staple, it’s nice to share music with people in a positive context.

I owe tremendous amounts of thanks to the venues that have hosted me on a regular basis, including the Publican House Brewery (Peterborough, ON), Rolling Grape Winery (Bailieboro, ON) and Holland Marsh Wineries (Holland Marsh, ON). Of exceptional note is the Burleigh Falls Inn (Burleigh Falls, ON, Kawartha). They have been an oasis of stability in a difficult business. I can’t thank Jennifer Craig enough for her support and patronage over the years.

I also owe a great deal of thanks to the Vintage Hotels teams in Jordan and Caledon. The Inn on the Twenty (Jordan, ON, Niagara) and the Millcroft Inn (Caledon, ON) have been a constant source of referrals and event work.

These people have been the “hard tires,” of the music business for me. I hope to see you at one of these venues soon, and not only for the music, but also to support these businesses that have gone out of their way to support small businesses like mine.
